We answer some of the most commonly asked questions about Mind Lab Pro.
Mind Lab Pro's ingredient list is pretty extensive and covers almost all the bases that you'd want from a pre made nootropic stack.
Citicoline 250mg - Citicoline has a lot of potential benefits to long term brain health, with it being tested for multiple cognitive disorders and as a potential treatment for degenerative conditions.[1] It also seems to have some effect on improving dopamine transition, thus improving mood regulation. There have also been several studies which show that it can improve cognitive functioning, visual perception and memory retention.[2] As a rule of thumb, all of the best pre built nootropic stacks include Citicoline.
Phosphatidylserine (PS) 100mg - PS is well absorbed in humans and is notably beneficial for protection the brain membrane, aiding in preventing cognitive decline.[3] The level of Phosphatidylserine in the brain declines with age, as a result supplementing could potentially reduce the toll aging takes on brain function. Studies have suggested it can improve mental clarity and mental energy.
Organic Lion’s Mane Mushroom 500mg - Lion's mane mushroom has been shown to aid NGF synthesis in brain cells[4]. It also seems to have some neuroprotective effects towards oxidative stress, although these have not been as successful when studied and the benefits have been minimal. This means that the active ingredients within the mushroom should improve brain regeneration and improve neuroplasticity, but are not likely to help prevent brain pathways from deteriorating overtime. It is still a good ingredient and 500mg is a high enough dosage to line up with the studied use cases.
Bacopa Monnieri 150mg - Research into bacopa has been promising, for the most part it has shown improved memory retention and appears to have strong neuroprotective functions. The brain protection element is perhaps the most promising so far with several studies showing replicable results.[5]
Rhodiola Rosea 50mg - Commonly used in nootropic supplements for it's documented ability to reduce stress hormones from building up. It also has been studied for it's ability to improve both physical and mental energy as well as it's potential uses as treatment for anxiety and general improvements to brain function overall.
N-Acetyl-L-Tyrosine 175mg - L Tyrosine is mostly beneficial for mood balance rather than mental performance or increased cognitive function. NALT the more bioavailable version used in mind lab pro, is converted into L-DOPA in the brain, which is then processed into dopamine.
Marine Pine Bark Extract 75mg - Maritime pine bark extract is probably our least favourite ingredient from our mind lab pro review, yes it does have some benefits in terms of protecting brain cells, but more recent studies have been relatively unconvincing, there are other ingredients we'd rather see in it's place.
L-Theanine 100mg - L Theanine is another mood focused supplement rather than one that particularly does much for mental performance. That said a reduction in the stress hormone cortisol would typically result in improved brain function. It also promotes healthy sleep, compounding the stress relieving effects and potentially increasing brain energy as a result of improved REM cycles.
B6, B9, B12 - We've come to expect that most decent nootropics contain a complex of B Vitamins, these vitamins are essential for brain energy, and supplement them is one of the easiest and most effective ways to improve cognitive functioning on a day to day basis.
