We answer some of the most commonly asked questions when researching Neuriva Plus Reviews.
According to the product label, this is what the Neuriva
Brain Performance supplement contains:
Coffee
Fruit Extract (Coffea Arabica / Coffee Cherry / Neurofactor) – 100 mg
Phosphatidylserine
(Sharp PS) – 100 mg
And B6, B6 and B12. Dosed at 100%, 170% and 100% of your RDI respectively.
That's all, just two ingredients and some b vitamins, which at Neuriva Plus' price point of $40 a bottle doesn't present particularly great value, especially if we compare it against nootropics that cost about $10 a bottle more (such as Hunter Focus or Qualliam) which contain all of these ingredients, plus about a dozen more, many of which are far more effective than the ones in Nueriva Plus.
Another ingredient listed under other ingredients is a filler
ingredient called Titanium Dioxide. It has caused much controversy in recent
years, with many health experts citing evidence for it being a harmful
compound. [1] Many supplement manufacturers have discontinued Titanium
Dioxide as a filler in their product range, so it is very concerning that
Schiff Vitamins have chosen to continue using it in Neuriva.
Let's look closer at what the two main ingredients in the
formulation actually do:
Coffee
Fruit Extract: A naturally-sourced compound from the coffee fruit plant
that is believed to affect your Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF)
positively. Although it’s not a particularly strong ingredient compared to
other options. However, Schiff Vitamins don't reveal if the mix they use
is the same one cited in their studies. Coffee Fruit Extract and Whole
Coffee Fruit Concentrate aren't the same things.
Phosphatidylserine
(PS):
The only proven effective ingredient in Neuriva, PS is found in high
concentrations in the brain, making up 15 per cent of the brain's fats.
The brain uses PS to maintain brain cell fluidity and protect brain neurotransmitters. It's been shown to boost memory, focus and concentration in multiple studies and is correctly dosed here at 100mg. [2] We have no qualms with Neuriva including this ingredient in their
formulation, but to rely on it as one of the only two ingredients seems a
little weak.
Vitamins B6, B9 and B12: These vitamins do have a benefit to brain function, especially if you're deficient, although that's incredibly rare. There's a reason most of these vitamins make it into almost every energy drink on the market. Supplementing has been shown to increase focus and reduce stress in general populations part the 100% RDI. [3] So they're a pretty solid ingredient and make it into most brain boosters, but once again the problem is that Neuriva is not a $20 supplement. The ingredients are all fine, but they just can't justify their price tag.
At a dose of 100mg, people will get some benefit from the PS
contained in Neuriva plus, but that’s about it.
